The R.S. Krishnan Higher Secondary School is located in Tiruchirapalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 1964 by the BHEL as a means for providing quality education for the children of the company's employees; subsequently, the school opened to students not connected to the BHEL. Initially, the school was called Boiler Plant Higher Secondary School, and it was renamed RS Krishnan in memory of the first executive director of BHEL. The school was run by the Jesuit order Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel until 2006, when the Singapore-based Global Indian Education Foundation took over the management of the school.[1]. RSK was managed by them for 5 years. After that, in 2011, KKR's Gowtham Educational Institutions took over the management of the school.[1]
R.S.K is considered to be one of the best schools in Tiruchirapalli for providing high class education. R.S.K is very well known for its teachers who have been pillars of strength in the growth of the institution.
R.S.K excels in Football. In the under-16 category, they have won various titles including the district title.
Students from R.S.K have been consistently selected for top engineering colleges across the country like Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology. The school also boasts of having a number of students each year excelling in their CBSE and Tamil Nadu State Board Final Examinations. A student from RSK secured 1st Rank in the TANCET 2011 results published by Anna University on 06/24/2011.[2]
